Kalaripayattu is an ancient martial art from Kerala, India. The movements and exercises are based on the science of Yoga and the medical treatment is based on the science of Ayurveda. Kalaripayattu includes strikes, kicks, grappling, preset forms, weaponry and healing methods.
What will you learn
Like any martial arts it takes months to get Kalari’s rhythm going within you. Focus will be to teach you some of the the basic steps that will also facilitate your body and mind to observe and intake the maximum from the retreat. Emphasis will be on special self-defense techniques such as blocks, joint locks, and fighting strategy (tricks). Sticks, otta, shield, sword and dagger will be introduced.
Daily 2 hours kalaripayattu training in the evening.
